Electric socket smeared with paint
Even with my steady hand, I prefer to unscrew electric sockets before painting around them. I know it takes time and, in theory, paint that is smudged onto the socket can be wiped off, but I prefer paint not to get onto the electricity socket in the first place.
Unscrewing the socket takes just a few minutes and painting around the socket then is really easy with the paint being applied behind the socket for best effect.
Electrical fittings unscrewed before painting prevents smearing for a better effect.
